  I bought this vacuum specifically to clean the floor and floor mats of my car. I found the vacuum to be very powerful, and it picks up every tiny piece of debris. Because it comes with various attachments, I am able to get into small crevices also. I am very happy with the product.

  I brought it and plug it to power on… Whoa! This is like monster machine!! Definitely powerful small vacuum I ever have! Feel like you are holding a gyroscope when power is on. Give it 5 stars.

  INTRO:
  I’d give this 4-1/2 stars out of 5 if Amazon allowed it.

  I bought this simultaneously with the Eureka 166DX Boss Bagless 2-in-1 Stick/Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, with the intention that each would serve different purposes. They do, but not as I’d planned. The Eureka 166DX’s stick option, which I’d though would make it handier for larger jobs, turns out to be almost irrelevant to me. The Scorpion’s stronger suction makes it better than the Eureka 166DX for larger jobs. I use the Eureka 166DX when I need to do “quiet jobs.”

  THE GOOD:
  The “quick flip” crevice device wins top honors for creative & pragmatic design. I always misplace little gizmos, and rarely make best use of vacuum attachements–until this vac. The crevice device is brilliantly, permanently and conveniently hinged onto the “hood” of the vac, and with a thumb-flick, unsnaps for immediate use–still hinged so that it’s virtually impossible to lose it. This unique feature improves the quality and speed of my small clean up jobs.

  The suction for a device this size at this price is excellent.

  When I purchased the vac, there was an option for additional attachments. I almost bought them but decided I’d wait to see whether I needed them. I’m now glad that I didn’t buy additional attachments. I can’t imagine I’d ever use anything other than the conveniently hinged crevice device.

  THE BAD:
  Extremely noisy. Probably goes hand-in-hand with the powerful suction, but scares the heck out of my 10-pound dachshund. Also, it’s so loud that I’m not comfortable using it late at night in the apartment building I live in, out of consideration for the neighbors. So although late-night use wasn’t what I had planned as the “different use” for the Eureka 166DX Boss Bagless 2-in-1 Stick/Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, that is how it has turned out. (The Eureka 166DX Stick/Handheld’s suction stinks, but it is very quiet.)

  CONCLUSIONS:
  If I had to choose just one, I’d definitely choose the Dirt Devil Scorpion over the Eureka 166DX, but as it turns out, I’m glad I have both.

  Of course, neither the Scorpion nor the Eureka 166DX substitutes for a full-powered upright vac. I borrow the building superintendent’s commercial upright vacuum cleaner when my apartment needs a thorough vacuuming. This allows me to conserve premium closet storage space in my small Manhattan apartment.

  I *LOVE* this little vacuum. It’s super-powerful, easy to handle (although a bit heavy), and easy to clean. It’s quite loud, I suppose that would be my only complaint, but it works like a charm. I have two cats who track litter all over my laminate floors, and it’s so easy to sweep and then vacuum with the scorpion than it is to haul out my huge and awkward full-size vacuum. I usually only use the quick flip nozzle, even on my couch, although the attachments work well and are easy to attach. This is corded, so that presents some limitations, but it’s so much more useful than a cordless because it actually sucks up the dust and debris and doesn’t suddenly die from power loss. The cord is very long and durable, so I usually only have to plug it in one outlet, and I can move around several rooms with it. If you’re looking for a great handheld vacuum, give this one a try. I didn’t even think one could get a vacuum this good at this low price! I can tell it will last, too, because I’ve dropped it several times and it was absolutely fine!

  i love this hand vac, i don’t have much carpet in my home so this is ideal for the little messes my kids make.

  Maybe this is how strong the suction in these machines is, but it was a great dissapointment compared to a full fledged vacuum cleaner. But, for what its worth, it does manage some decent cleaning

  This will not take the place of your big vac but is great for quick clean-up. We use it everwhere in the house and would love to have one on each floor. A must for every household. Great price and plenty of power.

  What a great little vacuum! This little dynamo will amaze you. It took no tools and a few easy clicks to put together. I have wood laminate floors throughout my home and the Eureka cleaned the whole house. It has a narrow head which gets under cabinets, furniture and behind toilets. It is very light weight and easy to maneuver. It has an easy to clean dust cup which means there are no bags or belts to buy. The floor cleaning head pops right off to turn into a hand vac., great for pet hair etc. on furniture. The crevice tool pops right in for hard to reach nooks and crannies with the added convenience of the handle so no bending and stooping. I like the small head because it gets into small spaces that average vacs. cannot. It does not have a beater brush so it is perfect for hard surfaces and small area rugs.   This is a light, small and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, but when it comes to cleaning it’s not that powerful. I would recommend it as a travel thing or something you just use every once in a while for small places, but not as a main vacuum cleaner for your whole house.

  i got the vacuum much faster than promised. it is a good little vacuum. perfect for my studio apartment. good suction. good size. not recommended for anything bigger than a one bedroom, but great for a small space.

  This is a great carpet cleaner. I cleaned carpets as a youngster and was very surprised at how easy it cleaned. Also pulls around 60% of the water out. My carpets were dry in 6 to 8 hours. If I had of known how easy it was I would have purchased one years ago. Attachments work great for cleaning steps and upolstery. Easy assembly. No problems with leaking or spot cleaning valve as others write about. (follow directions)
