This vacuum cleaner is okay for some things but not for everything. I bought it mainly to clean my PC. When I discovered that the suction wasn’t strong enough to clean as deeply as I liked, I decided to use it to pick up lint and dust. It does that well. It also picks up hair and crumbs. If you want to do a deep cleaning of your computer though, forget it. It will pick up surface dirt but not much underneath. It works good for things that are small and easy to get at, and for the price—you just can’t beat it!

I would like to set the record straight regarding the previous review of this product. I have personally verified that this product is in fact genuine Riccar bags. This product is being fulfilled by Amazon.com, NOT GOVACUUM. We shipped Amazon.com many cases of the genuine Riccar bags to ship for us. I personally ordered these bags from Amazon, and I received GENUINE RICCAR BAGS, as well as return instructions on how to return them to Amazon. After hefting a monstrous Hoover upright (I think it was called a Wind Tunnel) around my house for five years, I decided to try a canister vacuum cleaner. Consumer reviews on Amazon led me to the Miele, and I’ve rarely been as completely satisfied with a purchase.

My house has both wood and tile floors and several large, thick Persian rugs. For these varied surfaces, as well as for upholstery, drapes, and more, the Miele is perfect. I can carry it out to the driveway to clean my car, bring it from room to room for spot cleaning, or put it to work Spring-cleaning my entire house; there’s no job too big or too small.

The best thing about the Miele is how quiet it is. My three-year-old daughter couldn’t stand to be in the room with me when I used the upright cleaner, but she begs to use the Miele herself–and she’s able to use it, too!

Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny. If my Miele ever wears out (doubtful; it’s sturdy and obviously very well made), I won’t think twice about getting another.

This is a very nice little vacuum. It looks so stylish on my counter, is comfortable to hold, gets into corners extremely well, is quieter than any hand vac I’ve owned, and it’s quite powerful. As other posters have griped, the fan does blow your target dirt around a bit, but that’s not unheard of with hand vacs. The dirt cup is smaller than I would like, but I have 5 kids and a shaggy dog, so I recognize that my dirt-cup expectations may be greater than the norm. It may be just fine for more average levels of crumbs/fur. The only other, very minor, things I would change are: the power button is on the end of the handle, which looks sleek, but makes it very awkward to turn on with one hand while holding, for example, a baby or a Swiffer mop in the other hand. I wish they had placed the button so it could be operated with the thumb of the hand that holds the vac. And the cool shape means that it’s round, so if you set it down on a table while you’re cleaning, it might roll away. All in all, this is a super attractive, powerful vacuum and I’m very pleased, but I’m glad I got it on sale because it’s got some annoying quirks.

The vacuum has a very small dirt cup, which makes it fine for small clean ups. The hand held vaccum is a little heavy, but works fine. Works great on hard wood floors. Holds a charge long enough to do 2 - 3 rooms.

You just can’t beat the price to value ratio for this vacuum cleaner. I bought the vacuum cleaner 2 years ago and wanted a bagged upright. I had previously had a bagless unit, but hated emptying the canister because it would just get dust all over the place. The bag for the vacuum cleaner acts as both a bag and an air filter and every time you replace the bag, it’s also like replacing a new air filter. That being said, I really don’t feel any difference in air quality.

The only con to the unit is that the rollers don’t stop spinning when you use the attachments. Since I hardly ever use the attachments, this is usually not an issue. People complain about how noisy the unit is, but it’s a vacuum cleaner, so that was expected.

After 2 years of use, I found that the rollers stopped spinning when it hit the carpet. It would spin when the vacuum cleaner was off the carpet, but would stop when it hit the carpet. It took me a while to figure out that the belt was just stretched out too much, so after I replaced the belt, it was as good as new. You can get the belt on Amazon for really cheap assuming you have something else to buy to get the free super saver shipping. So if you run into this problem, the vacuum didn’t break - it’s just the belt.
